Reference for Paula Bass, Ph.D.

I am writing in strong support of my colleague, Paula Bass, Ph.D.  Dr. Bass is currently expanding her practice to include evenings and weekend hours, and has asked me to write her a letter of reference.  Dr. Bass has been in practice for over thirty years, and I have had the privilege of working with her for the past eight years.  I would like to share my perspective on Dr. Bass’s professional integrity.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with a private practice in Northern Virginia.  I also serve on the voluntary faculty at Georgetown and George Washington Universities’ Departments of Psychiatry.  I have known Dr. Bass since 2001.  We have collaborated closely in caring for many patients.  Dr. Bass is the most dedicated, compassionate, generous, thorough, and knowledgeable clinical psychologist with whom I’ve worked.

When I refer a patient to Dr. Bass, I am confident that she will treat her/him with the utmost respect and provide unusually comprehensive individual attention.  Dr. Bass has provided excellent therapy to several of my most distressed and traumatized patients.  These patients had been refractory to treatment despite having seen a number of gifted therapists.  Dr. Bass has a remarkable capacity to connect with such patients, support them, motivate them, and help them get well.

Dr. Bass works tirelessly on behalf of her patients.  She makes herself available for after hours crisis intervention seven days a week.  Dr. Bass has always demonstrated impeccable professionalism and dedication to her patients.
